The Japanese National Honor Society is a rank organization that recognizes and encourages academic excellence in the study of the Japanese language. Outstanding students who maintain high standards in Japanese language education are given the opportunity to showcase their Japanese language skills in the school's community by promoting activities that will enrich others' knowledge of the language and the culture. JNHS members participate in service to the campus community, community service in the wider community, and fundraising. Community service is emphasized and is required of JNHS by its sponsors in order to be recognized as a chapter. JNHS members are expected to be role models, encouraging classmates in the study of Japanese language and culture. Students must willingly participate in all JNHS activities and service to the school. The efforts of the members of the JNHS are awarded every year with certificates of excellence and letters of appreciation.
